Blazin’ Squad are the final act to be added to a revival concert taking place in Coventry.
The band shot to fame in the early noughties and are performing at the StepBack 90s concert at the Ricoh Arena’s Ericsson Indoor Arena on Saturday, October 13.
Blazin’ Squad had six top ten hits in the UK in the early noughties, and are renowned for songs such as Crossroads and Flip Reverse.
Marcel Somerville – known for his time on reality TV show Love Island – will be among Blazin’ Squad’s crew for their visit to the Ricoh Arena.
They join a host of other stars from around the same period, including Peter Andre, Venga Boys, 5IVE, S Club, East 17, Big Brovaz and Booty Luv.
StepBack 90s is being promoted by Stepback Concerts, who were also behind the successful StepBack 80s concert which attracted around 8,000 people to the same venue last October.
Dan Nelmes, Director at Stepback Concerts, said: “Now we have our line-up confirmed the countdown is well and truly on for what is set to be a memorable night for generations of music lovers.
“Though Blazin’ Squad rose to fame in the early noughties their songs have a 90s sound about them, and when the opportunity came about to sign up a band with six top ten UK hits, it was too good to turn down.
“We’ve had an amazing response from the general public so far – to the point where we had to release extra early bird tickets after the first 24 hours of going on sale – so we’d urge people to get their tickets while they can.”
Justine Hewitt, Head of Operations at the Ricoh Arena, added: “Music and nostalgia appears to be capturing the public’s imagination, as proved with the success of the last StepBack concert held at the venue.
“It’s not every day that families get the chance to see some of the most popular pop bands from years gone by all under one roof, and we’re gearing up to welcome thousands of people for another memorable night.”
Tickets are now on general sale, and cost £45 plus a booking fee. VIP tickets are available at £150 per person plus a booking fee.
This event is for over-14s only, while under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.
